The Image

Materials used: charcoal, fixative, acrylic colors, markers, ink, copies, glue clear varnish.
Year of production: 2016
The child's form is based on a photograph taken by Robert Doisneau in Paris in 1935. The photocopies of the collage part are based on Vladimir Velickovic's drawing with china ink on paper of 1962 entitled "Animal".
These works are part of my third solo painting exhibition titled "The Child that lives within ourselves", which took place in the Municipal Gallery of Kallithea "Sophia Laskaridou" in December 2017 and deals with childhood concerns as well as the adult who remains always a child.
A little girl drawing her shadow as the reflection of herself, tells us how to face our Image: FILL, BE, QUESTION, DESTROY.
